Frequently asked questions
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every new DrivePro account gets a 14-day free trial of the full Pro plan. No credit card is required to start. You only need to add a payment method if you want to continue after the trial.
What is the difference between Starter and Pro?
Starter includes diary management, online booking, card payments, pupil records, and mileage tracking. Pro adds HMRC Making Tax Digital filing, CPD and Standards Check tools, and AI lesson debriefs. If you're self-employed with income above £50,000, you'll need Pro for MTD compliance from April 2026.
Can I change plans later?
Yes. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time from your account settings. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period. There are no contracts or lock-ins.
What counts as a pupil?
Any learner whose lessons you record in DrivePro. Pupils who finish their course or move on are automatically archived after 30 days of no lessons, so you only pay for active pupils. There is no hard cap on pupil numbers in any plan.
How do card payments work?
Each instructor connects their own Stripe account at onboarding. Pupils pay by card at the moment of booking, and payouts go directly from Stripe to your bank account — usually the next business day. Every fee applied to a transaction is itemised in your Stripe dashboard in real time, so you always have a live view of what you received on each lesson.
What is the Enterprise plan?
Enterprise is for multi-instructor driving schools. It starts at £8 per seat per month and includes everything in Pro plus team management, multi-instructor diaries, consolidated reporting, and custom billing. Contact us for a quote if you run a school with more than 3 instructors.
What about PDI (trainee) accounts?
Trainee driving instructors (PDIs) get DrivePro free during qualification training. When you pass your Part 3 test and move to the green ADI badge, your account converts to Starter with the option to upgrade to Pro.
Are there any contracts or lock-ins?
No. Monthly plans can be cancelled at any time. Annual plans run for 12 months at a reduced rate but can be cancelled with a pro-rata refund. We do not require any long-term commitment beyond the billing period you choose.
